Overview

Public networks are unavoidable. Airports, cafés, hotels and shared offices all carry traffic that was never designed to be private, and the operating system gives an application only a narrow window in which to protect it. Manera Connect exists to make that window simple to open and hard to get wrong.

The application establishes an encrypted tunnel between the device and a NEOMANERA-operated endpoint, using modern, publicly reviewed protocol implementations rather than bespoke cryptography. Connection state, reconnection behaviour and battery impact are treated as product features in their own right — a privacy tool that people switch off because it drains a phone protects nobody.

Manera Connect is one product in the NEOMANERA catalogue. It does not define the company, and the engineering foundations it sits on — release automation, cryptographic review, crash-free session measurement — are shared with everything else we publish.

What it does

Designed around a small number of decisions

  • Modern, reviewed cryptography

Transport security is built on established, publicly audited protocol implementations. We do not invent our own cryptographic primitives.

  • Minimal data by design

The service is architected so that delivering the product does not require a browsing history. What is not collected cannot be lost, subpoenaed or sold.

  • Reconnection that survives real life

Handover between mobile data and Wi-Fi, lock-screen sleep and carrier drop-outs are handled explicitly, so protection does not silently lapse.

  • Battery-aware behaviour

Background activity is budgeted and measured against platform guidance, because a tool that costs a person their afternoon of battery will not be used.

  • Transparent connection state

The interface always answers one question without ambiguity: is this device protected right now, and through which endpoint?

  • Accessible from the first release

Full support for system text sizing, screen readers, reduced motion and high-contrast modes is part of the definition of done, not a later patch.

Commitments

What Manera Connect will not do

Stating the boundaries is more useful than listing features. These are commitments, not aspirations, and they apply from the first release onwards.

  • We do not sell, rent or broker user data to advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not embed third-party advertising or behavioural tracking software in the application.
  • We do not claim a level of anonymity that no consumer application can honestly provide.
  • We publish our data handling in plain language before asking anyone to install the product.
